The story of who Damon's biological parents are is slowly revealed across the whole season, but by the end Netflix and CW viewers have the truth.
After that Episode 1 reveal, the show fools us into thinking that JR and Damon are not really brothers, after the DNA tests they take come back saying they are not related.
However, this is due to a bone marrow transplant JR had to have as a child because of his anemia, which led to the donor's DNA being registered on the test rather than JR's.
As All American: Homecoming progresses through the season, however, the truth comes out.
Firstly, it is confirmed that Damon and JR are at least half-brothers.
The pair have the same mother, Celine (Crystal Lee Brown). She had an affair with Damon's father Xavier (Randy J. Goodwin) and got pregnant soon after. JR's father Jesse (Joe Holt) then put that child up for adoption, as he thought it was not his son.
However, this is not the case, as All American: Homecoming has one more trick up its sleeve.
In the season finale, it is revealed that Damon was the child of Celine and Jesse all along, and that the latter has unknowingly put their own child up for adoption.
This shock news is set to have serious implications for the future of the show. Luckily, The CW show has already been renewed for Season 2.
The new episodes are set to start on The CW from Monday, October 10 at 9 p.m. ET, the hour after the debut of the new season of All American. This makes the show one of the few CW shows to get another season, with the network canceling a large number of its shows.
