Criss Angel blames ex-fiancee Sandra Gonzalez for throwing away engagement ring

As one of the world's top magicians he is used to making things disappear.

But Criss Angel is claiming it is his ex-fiancee's fault her $300,000 engagement ring vanished without a trace after she sued him for its value.

The Las Vegas-based conjurer, whose toddler son is currently battling cancer, has said he has no idea what happened to the sparkler after his former lover Sandra Gonzalez chucked it at him when they broke up.

According to TMZ she is looking to net the cash worth of the ring however under Nevada law, where the suit was filed, the engagement ring is a gift in contemplation of marriage and it does not go ahead the gifter gets the ring back.

In an angry tweet the fuming magic man said: 'I spent over $500k on Sandra's Boob&Nose JOB-New BMW-dads Bail-moms Mortgage-Wardrobe-Cabo Vacations-Cash&On&On-Now U want More? #GoldDigger.'

The messy aftermath is quite the contrast to the Mindfreak favourite's schmaltzy proposal back in 2011.

At the time the self-styled mage's publicist said he proposed over a romantic sunset dinner on the beach. He is said to have flown her entire family over for the surprise and asked for her hand as fireworks blasted overhead.

It only emerged back in October the notion the magician is single is actually an illusion

He wed singer-songwriter Shaunyl Benson less than a year ago in a secret ceremony, and his ex believes she is now in possession of the disputed ring.

The marriage was revealed just days after he admitted he and the Australian beauty shared a now 22-month-old son, Johnny Crisstopher Sarantakos, who was diagnosed with cancer that month.

Criss and Shaunyl exchanged vows in February of this year following Valentine's Day according to their marriage certificate.

This would be Criss' second trip down the aisle as he was previously wed to his longtime girlfriend JoAnn Winkhart, until she filed for divorce in 2006 after four years of marriage.

The Luxor Casino star cancelled his shows through early November as his son Johnny underwent treatment for fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a common type of children's cancer where the prognosis is good with treatment, according to the National Cancer Institute.

His boy's prediciment inspired him to make documentary 1095, which is the number of days his son will undergo chemotherapy.

He is also hoping to hold a charity event at the Luxor next year $1 million for pediatric cancer research.
