Megan Thee Stallions Parents- The Untold Stories of Strength, Loss, and Legacy
The ferocious and unrepentant rapper Megan Thee Stallion finds strength in her turbulent yet inspirational childhood.
Megan’s path was molded by her parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete Jr., who were born in Houston, Texas, on February 15, 1995.
Joseph was a “full-time hustler,” and he spent the first eight years of Megan’s life behind bars. However, once he was freed, their relationship expanded.
As a result of his personal connection with Megan’s mother, Joseph, Megan’s best friend, taught her important lessons, most notably about being worthy of others.
Megan stated candidly in an interview with Rolling Stone, “I witnessed how my dad treated me and how he treated my mom.” My good inspirations are so numerous. My standards will not be lowered.”
Megan’s powerful and outspoken lyrics, which are a tribute to the principles her father espoused, reflect Joseph’s influence on her conception of relationships and self-worth.

A musical flair was given to Megan’s upbringing by her mother, Holly Thomas, also known as Holly-Wood, the rapper. Young Megan was engrossed in the sounds and lyrics in the studio while Holly relentlessly pursued her rap career from 2001 to 2007.
Unknowingly, Megan Thee Stallion was born from the flame kindled by Holly-Wood, the first female rapper she had ever known.
Recalling her time spent listening in on her mother’s sessions behind closed doors, Megan says, “I was thinking, ‘Well, sure, this is normal,’ since Holly-Wood is the first female rapper I’ve ever seen or heard. This is what everybody is doing.
As Megan stated her intention to pursue rap, Holly not only shared her passion of music but also took up the role of manager for her.
When Megan got her first record deal, Holly was by her side, and she played a crucial part in her early career.
Megan unfortunately suffered severe loss at a young age. In March 2019, Holly, her mother, lost her battle with brain cancer. Her father died when she was just fifteen.
In the 2021 Glamour Woman of the Year Award event, Megan spoke movingly about the influence of her mother, saying, “She was my manager, my best friend, and my everything, and I know she’s proud of me today.”
Megan understood the value of honoring her mother’s wishes and the impact of the women in her family who helped to build who she is today, even as her career took off.
Furthermore, Megan laid out the non-benefit Pete and Thomas Foundation in recognition of her mother and father.
Megan’s commitment to use her platform for tremendous impact is in accordance with the foundation’s emphasis on campaigns and programmatic initiatives relating to housing and education.
The path Megan has taken is evidence of the resilience she inherited from her parents, the lessons she took away from their failures, and the unwavering spirit that keeps her going in the face of difficulty.
Megan’s way is confirmation of the strength she acquired from her mother and father, the illustrations she detracted from their difficulties, and the relentless soul that moves her along even with trouble.
