Travis Scott Showed Off His Jumper to Steph Curry, and It Didn't Look Bad
Rapper Travis Scott is on tour and recently played two shows in Oakland, across the San Francisco Bay from where the Golden State Warriors play their home games.
On Wednesday, prior to the Warriors' game against the Sacramento Kings, Scott showed up to the team's training facility and met with the players. He also got some shots up in front of the consensus greatest shooter of all time: Warriors guard Stephen Curry.
In the video, Scott greeted Curry and Chris Paul warmly. He also took a moment to meet rookie guard Brandin Podziemski, who complimented Scott for a "great show" in Oakland the night before, as well as Gary Payton II.
Then Podziemski informed Scott he wanted to see his jumper.
Scott got a few shots up, and the video showed him knocking down several.
How is his form? Not perfect, but not terrible. Scott's feet could straighten out toward the hoop, and his thumb appears to creep down the ball a little too far. Similarly, both hands come forward on his follow-through, which worked for Larry Bird, but isn't how a coach would teach shooting in 2023.
Still, Scott seems to get decent rotation, which suggests his hand placement isn't too much of an issue. Furthermore, he knocked down at least one 3-pointer from the corner, and NBA 3-pointers are nearly 1.5 feet longer than NCAA 3-pointers in the corners.
Scott had a show Wednesday evening, so it's unclear how much of Wednesday's game he caught.
If he had to leave before the end, he missed perhaps the best finish of the young season so far. With less than a minute remaining, Curry bounced in a floater to give the Warriors a one-point lead.
On the next possession, Kings center Domantas Sabonis banked in a mid-range jumper that put the Kings back in front. But Warriors guard Klay Thompson curled off a screen and buried a jumper with 0.2 seconds remaining, which boosted the Warriors to a 102-101 victory.

The Warriors play their first game as part of the NBA's new in-season tournament on Friday when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Scott, meanwhile, will continue his tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on November 5, where the Chargers and Rams play their home games. Scott is reportedly the first rap artist to play and sell-out the 70,000-capacity venue. He is touring in support of his album "Utopia," which came out in July and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
